Butt-weld stop valve: a tool for precise fluid control under high-pressure conditions

As the core control element of the pipeline system, the butt-weld stop valve is designed for high-pressure, high-temperature and corrosive media environments, and its technical characteristics are highly matched with industrial application scenarios. The valve adopts a spherical valve body structure, and forms a metal sealing pair with a precisely machined conical valve core and valve seat to achieve linear flow adjustment within the opening range of 0-100%, with a minimum adjustment accuracy of ±1.5% of the design flow, meeting the stringent requirements of reactor charging and boiler feed water regulation in chemical plants.

Its core advantage lies in the "butt-weld" connection technology - both ends of the valve are directly combined with the pipeline through a full penetration welding process, and the weld strength reaches more than 95% of the parent material, and the qualified rate of radiographic flaw detection reaches 100%. This connection method completely eliminates the leakage risk caused by the attenuation of the bolt preload in traditional flange connections, and can maintain a zero leakage operation record for more than 10 years under extreme conditions of -196℃ to 650℃.

In terms of material selection, the butt-welded stop valve uses a forging process to manufacture carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel valve body, with a grain size controlled above ASTM grade 7, and a yield strength 30% higher than that of cast valves. The valve core surface is treated by supersonic flame spraying (HVOF) to form a 0.1mm thick tungsten carbide coating, which extends the service life by more than 5 times under sand-containing medium scouring conditions.

With its excellent sealing performance and structural strength, this valve has become the preferred product in key areas such as long-distance oil and gas pipelines, nuclear power plant main steam systems, and coal chemical gasification units. Its full life cycle cost is 25% lower than that of traditional valves, and the maintenance interval is extended to 5 years, creating significant economic value for industrial users.
