Gate Valve

Gate valves are the most common valves which are used for opening and closing. Sedelon® specializes in producing Gate valves according to industry standards, with a focus on API 600 Gate valves. These valves meet the rigorous specifications set by the American Petroleum Institute (API) for pressure-retaining parts for petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. In addition to API 600 Gate valves, Sedelon® also offers DIN Gate valves, which comply with the design standards set by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), a German standards organization. This allows Sedelon® to cater to the needs of customers who require valves that meet specific regional or international standards.
Gate valves can have metal bodies such as forged steel, stainless steel, alloy, bronze, cast steel, and carbon steel. Forged steel gate valves are commonly used for shut-off applications, especially when the size exceeds 50mm. Sedelon® specializes in producing API 602 Forged Steel Gate valves and API 603 Stainless Steel Gate valves. Ceramic gate valves, made of non-metal materials, offer good abrasion resistance and hardness. For highly corrosive media, special materials like Hastelloy, special steel, and special alloy are used, while duplex or super stainless steel gate valves are often chosen for their corrosion resistance.
Gate valves are distinctive due to their gate/wedge design. By lifting the gate/wedge, the valve allows fluid to pass through. Various types of gates/wedges exist, including single gate disc, double gate disc, and resilient gate disc. Gate valves are typically designed for full open or closed positions and do not function for throttling. For very thick fluids, Knife Gate valves are often used to slice through the fluid.
Gate valves come in various connection types, resulting in different types of gate valves. These include flanged, screwed, butt weld, and socket weld gate valves. Flanged gate valves have ends that are drilled to match flange dimensional standards for connection to pipelines.
Gate valves are typically operated using a hand wheel, making them simple to use. For valves that require a significant amount of starting force, gear-operated gate valves can be used to save effort. Larger gate valves are often gear-operated. Additionally, some gate valves, like those from Sedelon®, can be equipped with actuators for special applications, such as electric motor, pneumatic actuator, or hydraulic actuator gate valves.
Sedelon® offers a range of valves designed for different operating conditions, including high and low temperatures, high pressure, and for handling harmful or poisonous fluids. High Temperature Gate valves, Low Temperature/Cryogenic Gate valves, and Jacket Gate valves are suitable for various temperature ranges, with Jacket Gate valves helping to prevent temperature loss. High Nickel Alloy Gate valves can also be used in high temperature conditions. For high pressure applications, Sedelon;s High Pressure Gate valves are a good choice. A By-pass Gate valve is used to reduce wear on engines by providing a pressure release system. Pressure Seal Gate Valves automatically adjust the pressure of the sealing ring to match the pipeline's internal pressure, making them suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments.
Bellows Sealed Gate valves are effective for sealing harmful and poisonous fluids and can also be used in aseptic process industries like medicine. With increasing emphasis on environmental protection, Sedelon offers Low Emission/Low Leakage Gate valves that prevent medium leakage and emission, benefiting the environment. These valves are equipped with Fugitive Emission Test Certificate ISO 15848-1:2006, contributing to environmental protection.
